With the Coronavirus pandemic continuing, it’s been difficult to maintain the total power exchange dynamic that I have with my princess. This part of our relationship usually works so well due to our regular in-person contact.

Making Adjustments

Near the beginning of lockdown, we discussed our BDSM dynamic and made a few adjustments to the rules and our expectations. We decided to have a weekly check-in with each other to help maintain the dynamic within our relationship.

Here are some of the other adjustments we made:

  • Increased communication
  • Specified timings for tasks and punishments
  • Changed certain tasks based on current living arrangements

While these adjustments helped for a few weeks, it quickly became more difficult as time went on. Our relationship strives on in-person contact as my princess can always sense if there’s an issue and can react accordingly, this is so much more challenging at a distance through online communication.

Therefore, we both decided it was best to take a short break.

Short Break From BDSM

Having both decided to take a short break, it allowed us to focus on our vanilla relationship which has subsequently become stronger than ever due to the lockdown. Our short break from BDSM has also made us appreciate our special dynamic which we both enjoy, miss and can’t wait to return to shortly.

The break is also allowing us to reconsider what rules and limits will be set in place in the future, which will allow us to have a better and stronger BDSM relationship which we are craving now more than ever.

Takeaways From Lockdown

During this lockdown period, we’ve come to understand what works best in our relationship and thought it may be useful to summarise:

  • Our relationship is incredibly strong (with and without BDSM)
  • Avoid rushing into new situations too quickly
  • Communication is extremely important and should be prioritised
